This opportunity presented a challenge to create a figurative or metaphorical scene of a pre-existing article in a way that conveys the underlying meaning of the story. The article discusses the author's own personal journey and frustrations with being identified as a barista by New York City residents due to the amount of time spent working at coffee shops while progressing his writing career. The resulting illustration is a metaphorical interpretation of the title "The Barista's Curse."
